.林至鴻-共進午餐  (Shared Lunch)

毛毛蟲把葉芽咬開，螞蟻在一旁吃咬開後流出的汁液，而沒有捕食毛毛蟲，形成毛毛蟲與螞蟻彷彿在小圓桌上一起吃飯的有趣畫面。螞蟻除了不會傷害芽蟲、小灰蝶幼蟲，提供食物給螞蟻的小蟲外，也不會攻擊幫助牠們取食植物汁液的昆蟲。

This rather unusual scene captures a caterpillar and ants harmoniously sharing a meal together on a small round table. The caterpillar takes a chunk out of the leaf bud while the ants sip the juices out of it. The ants in general will not attack aphids, the larvae of the Lycaenidae butterfly, bugs that provide them food and bugs that help them obtain plant juices.
