.林禹辰-同是星團,長幼有序:M13 vs. NGC2244
(Filial Piety in the Star Cluster Family)

空中有許多的星團,可分為球狀星團與疏散星團,但他們的命運與「份量」卻完全不同。球狀星團(如M13)多分布於天空中偏離銀河的位置,質量大,甚至比銀河系還要古老。疏散星團(如NGC2244)則多分布於銀河盤面上,是年輕恆星的主要誕生區之一。縱然如此,仍可見到美麗的星雲在附近,如畫面中發射星雲NGC2237(星際塵埃等受激發而發射特定顏色的光譜:紅色來自H-alpha、[NII]、[SII]/藍綠色來自[OIII]、H-beta)。


Themany star clusters can be categorize into globular clusters and open clusters, yet their fate and mass differ greatly. Globular clusters (such as M13) are bulk in mass and usually sit far away from the Milky Way. Some are even more ancient than the Milky Way itself. The open clusters (NGC2237) mostly sit on the galactic disk, which is also the birthplace of many fixed stars. Even if there’s a distance, one can still witness the picturesque nebula in the skies above, such as this NGC2237 projecting stardust. The stimulated interplanetary dust cloud has a specific spectrum: Red comes from H-alpha, (NII), (SII)/Aquamarine comes from (OIII), H-beta.
