多采多姿的海洋生物，是潛水客著迷的地方。腦紋珊瑚身上有很多深深的凹槽，就像人的大腦或小腸的皺褶。珊瑚蟲的觸手一排排整齊地排列在兩側，口長在底部，形如凹槽。圓形構造有助於承受海浪的衝擊。此種珊瑚會發出螢光，利用體內螢光蛋白質來吸收高能量的光，再以低能量的螢光釋放出來，這就是珊瑚防禦機制。此張以藍光刺激珊瑚後所散發出的繽紛色彩。

Divers are forever mesmerized by the wonders of the ocean. The Trachyphyllia geoffrycyi coral has indentations all over its body similar to the creases of a brain or small intestines. The tentacles neatly line up on both sides with a curved like mouth located on the bottom. Their spherical structure is helpful in withstanding the pounding forces of waves. This particular coral illuminates itself. Using luminescent proteins within its body to absorb high-energy rays then releasing low energy luminescence is precisely the defense mechanism of the coral. The Photograph shows the coral illuminated after being stimulated by blue light.
